What I'll Fight For
Three priorities for the Montclair Public Schools.
Achievement
Building on what makes Montclair great
Montclair has an amazing community: dedicated teachers, engaged families, and talented, curious students. As we move past the fiscal crisis, the board's most important job is helping our superintendent turn that strength into results for every student.
My priority
Work with the superintendent to set clear, shared goals for student achievement, and give the backing and resources needed to reach them.
Transparency
Your money, in plain sight
The fiscal crisis broke the community's trust. Rebuilding it takes openness about where our money goes today and honesty about where we're headed.
My priority
Regular, simple financial updates that show whether we're on budget, getting results for students, or heading towards a problem.
Accountability
Keeping our promise
Our schools make a promise to students and the community: an excellent education for every child, delivered responsibly. Accountability means being honest when we fall short.
My priority
An annual report to the community on how well we're keeping that promise, so we can see where we lead and learn from those doing better.
I've already built this kind of tool:NJ School Insightslets any parent look up their district's budget and funding. Montclair's own reporting should be at least that clear.
